iLab (Islamic Laboratory Uganda) is an online Islamic learning platform run by Dar Al Maswadir Islamic Foundation in Kampala, Uganda. It offers live Quran memorisation, Tajweed, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Seerah, Hadith and Arabic language classes taught by certified scholars.

iLab stands for "Islamic Laboratory". Like a laboratory, it is an active space for experimentation and hands-on learning — students practise recitation, explore the Islamic sciences, and build mastery through consistent, repeated practice rather than passive lectures.

Yes. Creating a student account on iLab is completely free and takes under two minutes. You only need an email address to register.

iLab offers Quran memorisation (hifz) with certified huffaz, Tajweed certification, and Islamic sciences including Fiqh (jurisprudence), Aqeedah (creed), Seerah (prophetic biography), Hadith and Arabic language. All classes are live online video sessions.

All iLab classes are taught live by qualified, certified Islamic scholars and huffaz vetted by Dar Al Maswadir Islamic Foundation. Teachers apply through a dedicated application process and are approved before teaching.

iLab uses micro-learning: focused sessions of about 20 minutes. Short, repeated sessions activate the spacing effect, which produces better long-term retention than long lectures. Cohorts typically run for around 3 months.

Yes. When you complete a programme you earn a verifiable certificate recognised by Dar Al Maswadir Islamic Foundation and partner institutions. Certificates can be verified online.

Every live session on iLab is recorded. If you miss a class you can replay the recording at your own pace from the lesson catalogue in your dashboard.

Yes. iLab classes are online, so you can join from anywhere in Uganda or beyond. For remote communities with limited electricity, iLab also operates solar-powered learning labs with offline-capable tablets.

Qualified scholars can apply through the teacher application page at ilab.damuganda.org/app/register/teacher. After submitting your profile and documents, the Dar Al Maswadir team reviews and approves qualified applicants.

iLab runs three schedule tracks: a day track with morning sessions, an evening track for professionals, and a weekend track on Saturdays and Sundays. You choose the cohort that fits your life when you enroll.
